Near the Olympic Stadium, this is where, in 1976, the athletes were to sleep. Back in time, the architecture must have been something. Today, it serves as appartments. Près du Stade Olympique, c'est là qu'en 1976 les athlètes dormaient. À l'époque, l'architecture devait être quelque chose. Aujourd'hui, le bâtiment sert d'appartements.

Parfait eggs-emple
More and more, people try to get used to new ways of eating eggs. The omelette is getting really popular in Montréal as I can see in different restaurants menus, particularly at dinner time. Here is one I made yesterday evening. Try it with cheddar and salsa ! De plus en plus, les gens essaient de nouveaux moyens de manger des oeufs. L'omelette devient vraiment populaire à Montréal si je me fie aux menus de différents restaurants, particulièrement à l'heure du dîner. Voici celle que je me suis confectionnée hier soir. Essayez avec cheddar et salsa !

Folle vitrine
Walking by Laurier street, which is full of "I-pay-more-at-this-local-store-but-i-can-afford" people and stores, I came in front of that funny window. What is said in french is "Time to sleep". I guess they sell baby things. Marchant sur la rue Laurier, bondée de gens du genre "Je-paie-plus-à-mon-magasin-local-mais-je-suis-riche", je suis arrivé devant cette drôle de vitrine. J'imagine qu'ils vendent des trucs pour bébés.
Corner St-Urbain and Duluth, try some big sandwiches, prepared with care and served with smile. No alcool here, only teas and coffees (and oh yes, some shakes that will make you come back). Coin St-Urbain et Duluth, venez manger de gros sandwiches, préparés avec soin et servis avec le sourire. Pas d'alcool ici, juste du thé et du café (et oh oui, des shakes qui vous forceront à revenir).
The new upcoming movie with John Cusack, The Factory, will be out in 2009. And guess where they are shooting ?! Montréal will serve as Buffalo, NY, for the movie.
So here is an exclusive shot of The Factory, as every photograph near the set up is pressed to leave by policemen and guards. I might get back there soon and get you more pictures ! Thème de février : "Pour quoi Montréal est réputée ?"
I didn't have a difficult choice on that one ! As you might know, the Montréal Canadiens will celebrate, next season, their first centennial (1909-2009) as Montréal will host the All-Star game AND the draft session ! Bunch of activities are to take place near the Bell Center, like (that is anticipation, I'm not involved in the committee) the number retirement of the best goalie of all time, #33, Patrick Roy. But hey, let's this 99th finish with success before thinking our 25th Stanley Cup of next season ! :0) Ce ne fut pas un choix très difficile ! Comme vous le savez peut-être, les Canadiens de Montréal célèbreront, la prochaine saison, leur premier centenaire (1909-2009) en acceuillant le macth des Étoiles ET le repêchage ! Plusieurs activités seront au menu autour du Centre Bell, comme (ceci est de l'anticipation, je ne suis impliqué dans aucun comité) le retrait du numéro du gardien de but le plus fabuleux de tous les temps, #33, Patrick Roy. Mais bon, laissons cette 99e saison se terminer avec succès avant de penser à la 25e Coupe Stanley de la prochaine saison !

I like the way it looks. It just seems too new to look old ! J'aime bien comment ça ressort, le fait que ce soit neuf mais qu'on donne un style plus ancien !

This is a bar. And this is the back door. When the police come to visit, many people use this back door to get away easily.
Ok, I'm kidding ! C'est un bar. Et c'est la porte arrière. Quand la police visite le bar, plusieurs personnes se sauvent par la porte arrière.

La sculpture du "je me demande"...
What are these people doing ? (oh, unfortunately, I don't have any official answer). You can have an idea of the height of the sculpture by looking at the little trash bin on the left of the picture. Que font ces gens ? (oh, malheureusement, je n'ai aucune réponse officielle). Vous pouvez apprécier la grandeur de la sculpture en identifiant la poubelle à la gauche de l'image.
Old public baths, now a museum. It's on Amherst street near Ontario. Vieux bains publics, maintenant transformés en musée. Sur la rue Amherst, près d'Ontario.

This is a view of the museum or archeology and history of Montréal, based exactly (that's what they say) on the foundation spot of the city. It turned 15 this year; kind of recent !
